Diesheka Bowers – Director

Learning is the ONLY option!

My name is Diesheka Goodrich Bowers and I am a Christian, wife, and mother. I am the founder and program director of Blessed Babies Learning Academy. I am often asked how and why did I (as a mother of 6 children) decide to become an owner of a daycare. The response that I provide is laughter and I tell people that GOD has a sense of humor. I truly believe if you ask GOD to order his purpose for your life, he will do it.

For years, Blessed Babies Learning Academy was just an idea. An idea that stemmed from my desire to teach children, develop within them a passion for learning and do so while delivering biblical principles. It wasn’t until I asked GOD to allow his purpose in my life to be revealed to me that the idea of Blessed Babies Learning Academy would come to pass and become reality. It is with GREAT PLEASURE that I can say GOD allows his favor to shine on those who are counted out.

I am PASSIONATE about children and their learning and helping families create solid educational practices that will help their children for many years in the future. My motto is if I can reach one child and teach them then I did what GOD called me to do. Blessed Babies Learning Academy, with GOD’S FAVOR, will reach and teach many children to come because our school motto is ‘Learning is the ONLY option!’

Jasmine Goodrich – assistant Director

It takes a village to raise a child.

Jasmine Goodrich is the director’s oldest daughter and the Lead Toddler II teacher at Blessed Babies Learning Academy. She has been teaching at Blessed Babies Learning Academy for 11 years. She finds it a joy to work alongside the BBLA team. She is currently pursuing her education in Early Childhood, working towards her Associate’s Degree. For Jasmine, she doesn’t view her class as just a class, she views her students as her children. She enjoys spending time with her son and family, Sunday’s family gatherings, and traveling.

“I remember when Blessed Babies Learning Academy first started, we had 4 students and 2 of them were my siblings. I was never a big fan of owning a daycare center because the thought of changing a diaper just didn’t sit well with me. As time went on and BBLA evolved, moving to new locations and expanding, I saw myself growing into a person I never knew I was. That was, nurturing the kids, teaching, singing, dancing, potty training, and so much more! I’ve learned that time spent with children, is NEVER wasted! It’s safe to say now, I know how to operate a learning-focused childcare center, my passion for teaching has increased and I am confident about the learning outcome achieved for our children”.

Jordan Floyd – Center Floater / Co-Teacher

Jordan Floyd has been apart of Blessed Babies learning academy since April 2019. She is the daughter of the director and works closely with her on many initiatives. Her motivation for working in childcare was motivated she became a parent. She wanted to expand her knowledge by working hands-on with other children. Her favorite part about teaching is seeing the children grow and learn new things as they get older. Her favorite activity to do with the students is art so she can be creative by creating kid-friendly activities. Her career goals including obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Biology in pursuit of becoming a pediatric dentist. Outside of work, she loves spending time with family and friends.

Michaelle Tochon
Lead Teacher
6 Weeks to 6 Months

Michaelle is affectionately known as Ms. Mimi. She has been with BBLA since August 2017. She has been an early childhood education teacher for 17 years. She currently works with the infants and is the lead teacher for the Leaping Lizards classroom. Her students are 6 weeks to 6 months old. She is originally from Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Seeing the joy of discovery and exploration from her students always puts a smile on her face. When she is not at BBLA, you can find her reading, being actively involved in her church, and singing.

Nakia Elliot

6 Months to 15 Months

Nakia has been part of the BBLA team for 2 years. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree at Tennessee State University majoring in Family Consumer Science. She has been working with children for over 10 years. She works in the infant classroom with students ages ranges from 6-15 months. Her passion is being involved in the development of children and watching them grow. She enjoys circle time, gross motor activities, and planning summer fun events for the children. In her free-time, she volunteers to help families and plan community events.

Myqiera Donnell

Myqiera has worked at Blessed Babies Learning Academy since September 2020. She works with infants ages 6 to 15 months. Her motivation for becoming a teacher was to make a difference in the lives of young children. She loves interacting with children and learning with them. She is working towards obtaining an early education certification. My favorite activity to do with these kids is art and crafts. In her free time, she likes to volunteer and community involvement.

Dominique Campbell

Dominique has been with Blessed Babies Learning Academy for 4 years. She has a total of 7 years’ experience working with children. What she enjoys most about working with children is watching them learn and grow, building trust with families, and seeing the impact of her dedication. She enjoys doing arts and crafts with children. She is working towards obtaining her CDA and further pursuing her educational aspirations. Her hobbies include spending time with family and friends and babysitting. Favorite Quote – “Learning is the only option!”

Rosa Moore

Rosa has been an employee at Blessed Babies Learning Academy for 11 months. She is a co-teacher for children ages 13 to 30 months. She has a passion for working with young children and experiencing the growth of developing minds. Her favorite hobby is completing 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzles.

Amaya has been a teacher at Blessed Babies Learning Academy for two years now. She is a center floater, spending the majority of her time with the Laughing Lions II & the Brave Bears classrooms. Painting is her favorite activity to do with kids as she enjoys the imagination of young children. She is actively pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at Austin Peay State University with aspirations of becoming a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. In her spare time, she enjoys time with family and shopping.

Shemia has been apart of the Blessed Babies Learning Academy family for almost 2 years. She currently works in the Brave Bears classroom with students that are ages 3, 4, and 5 years old. She loves to see kids grow and learn new things every day. She is currently working on a degree in Early Childhood Education. Her hobbies include cooking, reading, and arts and crafts.

Quanasa is affectionately known as Mrs. Q. She has been a team member of Blessed Babies Learning Academy since June 2018. She loves being a part of a team of educators who have the best intentions for the kids and families that we serve. Educating young children is her heart’s passion. Her hobbies include reading, enjoying family time, and traveling.
